Developer FAQs

The Entity Component System (ECS) is a software architectural pattern designed for scalability, modularity, and performance in complex simulations. In ECS, entities represent individual objects (e.g., aircraft, satellites, airports, and assets), serving as placeholders for their associated functionality. These entities consist of components, which are modular data structures that define specific attributes or behaviors, such as speed, sensors, health, or AI-driven logic. Systems operate on components, applying rules, updates, or processes (e.g., movement calculations and communication status updates) to facilitate dynamic interactions between entities. This design allows ECS to manage and scale simulations involving millions of entities efficiently, as systems can process only the relevant components without unnecessary overhead.

The Marketplace facilitates the standardization, sharing, and monetization of entities, data sources, AI models, agents, 3D models, imagery, and geospatial data among organizations. It establishes a robust business model that enables partners to securely bring their intellectual property to the platform while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. This enables customers to leverage the platform's world-class commercial capabilities and utilize its existing customer resources.

The Worldscape platform is built on a containerized, distributed compute fabric based on Microsoft Orleans, which enables the deployment of virtual machines and containers. Orleans is open-source, powers Microsoft XBOX Live and Azure, and integrates with Agentic AI. Therefore, it can be deployed across all major commercial clouds, including Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform, as well as to government-secure or private clouds and edge computing locations. This enables faster and more secure processing, as well as 3D rendering closer to the clients consuming the platform, thereby increasing performance and scale while providing maximum flexibility to deploy capabilities anywhere.

A physics-based game engine is ideal for simulation because it models real-world forces, such as gravity, collisions, and friction, enabling dynamic, interactive, and realistic behavior. It’s scalable, efficient, and adaptable—perfect for training, prototyping, or predictive modeling across various industries, including robotics, engineering, and entertainment.

To ensure secure and seamless user authentication, we’ve integrated Auth0 as the foundational backbone to our authentication in the browser. Auth0 is a cloud-based authentication and authorization platform that provides easy, secure login and single sign-on services. Not only can you authenticate with username and password, but Auth0 also works with Microsoft Entra, Google Social, and other authentication services that can fit your needs.

Data Under Management -This refers to data that is stored, governed, and protected within Worldscape. It includes:

All structured and unstructured data needed by your application. Data that is subject to policies for access control, compliance, backup, and lifecycle management. The focus is on security, integrity, and availability of the data at rest.

Data in Motion - This refers to data that is actively moving between systems, users, or devices. It includes:

Data is being transmitted over networks. Real-time data flows are used in analytics, monitoring, or operational systems. The focus is on encryption, latency, and reliability during transmission.

Worldscape has developed a robust Agentic AI ecosystem that employs progressive layers of agentic capabilities within the Worldscape platform. Through a carefully orchestrated evolution of intelligent agents—spanning data loaders, method runners, and autonomous AI-powered agents—Worldscape creates a symphony of interoperating entities that collectively elevate data operations, analytics, and user interactions.

Worldscape agents can easily connect to your existing databases, cloud storage, and/or services. Agents support natively C#, Python, Java, and JavaScript/Node.js languages for accessing your data, where it is currently hosted.
